Malaysian woman among Forbes’ top 10 most powerful women in UN
Judy Cheng-Hopkins, assistant secretary-general of the United Nations (UN) for Peace-building Support, was recently named as one of Forbes’10 most powerful women in the UN, making her the first Malaysian to receive the honour.
The Penangite, also the highest-ranking Malaysian in the UN, was appointed to her position in April 2009, in recognition of a career in development and humanitarian work in Africa and Asia that has spanned over three decades.
PEM interviewed Cheng-Hopkins in our October 2010 issue; the article can be downloaded at http:// is.gd/J7VOrl.
