It was Chinese New Year once again, and with it the traditions that so many of us are familiar with: huge family gatherings, an assortment of delicacies, big dinners, illegal fireworks and, of course, big fat angpows. The days leading up to the festivities, however, involved a great deal of hard work and attention to detail, centred round centuries-old crafts handed down from generation to generation and practised well out of the public eye...
