Car-free Sundays take offPenang officially kicked off its ban on motorised vehicles in parts of George Town on December 11, 2011, in a large cycling event that saw an estimated 3,000 participants. Participants were invited to join Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng in a bicycle ride through the central business district. Earlier, the state government announced that cars would be banned in parts of the city, including Beach Street, Bishop Street and Church Street from 7am to 5pm every Sunday.“Kancil”...
