In July every year, Bukit Mertajam comes to life as pilgrims flock to St Anne’s Church to take part in the massive St Anne’s Festival. The festival is held for 10 days, including the actual feast day on July 26. The celebrations include prayer, a candlelight procession and a novena, a nine-day prayer.
