Penang as economic hub of the regionPrime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak announced that the federal government intends to turn Penang into a regional economic hub. The federal government has identified 10 infrastructure projects that are designed to stimulate the economy and create jobs, including the expansion of the Penang Airport and Penang Port, the construction of the second Penang Bridge and the creation of a Multimedia Super Corridor.
