According to a recent Grant Thornton International Business Report, 40% of Malaysia's women are in the workforce, apparently the highest in Asean1 . From the gender empowerment point of view, what do women who shun the cubicle-in-a-skyscraper do to become financially independent? I started enquiring among friends and relatives about women who run cottage industries in and around KL.
