Usher in the Year of the Dragon with a jubilant recital by Rondo Chamber Fellow 2024, SYNC Quartet in Strings of Prosperity. The chamber ensemble will present a performance featuring Alexander Borodin’s String Quartet No. 2 in D Major, Felix Mendelssohn’s String Quartet No. 6 in F minor and other beautiful works.

Learn the magic of coding by using Python to create the “Save The Earth” game in the Free Experience: Python Workshop (KADUN Sg Puyu)! Your mission? Assist with the cleanup effort by directing the player to gather loose debris and avoid obstacles. Participants must bring their fully charged laptop (64-bit with minimum of 4G RAM) and a mouse on the day of the event. Open to school-goers aged 11 to 17.

Held in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of Malaysia-China Diplomatic Relationship Celebration, the Northern Zone Traditional Dance Competition aims to encourage traditional dances and unearth dance talents. Open to youths aged 15 to 35 who were born or are working/studying/residing in Penang, Kedah, Perak or Perlis, the competition is organised by Penang Youth Development Corporation and endorsed by the Penang state government and the Consulate General of China in Penang.

Clan Legacies & Revolutionaries Trail by Penang Hidden Gems explores the history and heritage of the Big Five clans (or Kongsi) in Penang that became the backbone of the Penang Hokkien community in the olden days. Among other things, participants will learn about how the Hokkien merchants and traders of the 17th century set up the Kongsi network in Penang, their monopoly on revenue farming, and what made the infamous Penang Riot of 1867 break.
