See teams from all over the world out in full force competing to be champions at the Penang International Dragon Boat Festival! From cultural performances to powerful displays of teamwork and beautiful multicolour dragon boats, there is plenty to experience at the decades-old festival.

The highly anticipated George Town Literary Festival returns this year with a star-studded line-up of 72 participants from 18 countries! Under the theme “Taming the Wild”, the festival seeks to explore the complex relationship between the Wilderness and Human Nature. Refer to the website for the full programme listing.

It's time to flex your creativity! Organised by Penang State Art Gallery, the Penang Art Open invites participants to submit their best artwork based on the theme, "FREEDOM". The competition is open to all locals and Malaysia-based participants aged 18 and above; the overall winner will be awarded RM15,000, a certificate of participation and the opportunity to hold a solo exhibition at the Penang State Art Gallery.

Organised by Pertubuhan Thalassaemia Pulau Pinang, Let's Walk for Thalassaemia 2022, is an excellent way to support people living with the genetic blood disorder by raising funds for the organisation. Each participant is entitled to a t-shirt and a chance to win amazing lucky draw prizes.

Reconnect with nature and join the Co-Exist with Nature programme organised by Penang Green Council in collaboration with MBPP councillor, Tan Soo Siang. Students will be shown how the mini “food forest” is designed to generate its own ecosystem. At the same time, students will also learn how to grow their own food and start composting at home.

Hin Bus Depot and Alliance Française de Penang present the screening of Barbara, a film about a talented young doctor who applied for an exit visa from the German Democratic Republic and, as punishment, was transferred from her prestigious post in Berlin to a small paediatric hospital in the country.

Trade a lazy Sunday morning for Sungai Perai Nature Walk 2022. Participants will be treated to great sights of the scenic Sungai Perai and animals in their natural habitat. Each participant is entitled to a t-shirt, an e-certificate and a chance to win lucky draw prizes. Breakfast will be provided. Register before November 10!
