Looking for Meaningful Connection is a solo exhibition by Queen Lee, a Penang-born visual artist. The introspective exhibition features meditative watercolour paintings of fish and birds in different shoaling formations, embroidery works inspired by the artist’s experience growing up in Penang in the 80s, memories of her late father, a collaborative work with her two sisters, and a series of acrylic paintings about her recent unfruitful online dating encounters. Free admission.

Donating blood is an easy way to save lives. In conjunction with the upcoming Thaipusam and Chinese New Year celebrations, help those in need by participating in a blood donation drive campaign organised by Pusat Khidmat KADUN Pengkalan Kota, Persatuan Penganut Dewa Hong San Keong, St. John Ambulance Malaysia and Hospital Pulau Pinang.

The annual celebration returns with another online edition this year, allowing viewers to visit the ancestral halls virtually and learn about their cultural heritage without having to be physically present.

Lace up your running shoes and make memories with the virtual Run Butterworth Run. Organised by the Rotary Club of Butterworth, the virtual run of 5km, 10km and 21km will award the top three 21KM finishers and top three most interesting selfies.

Looking to improve your English spelling and vocabulary? Then join Spell It Smart 2022, a spelling and vocabulary course introduced by the Penang Math Platform for students to learn spelling in different and creative ways. Throughout this course, students will learn approximately 350 vocabularies relevant to upper-primary learners and develop the 4Cs of critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication skills. 

By the end of the programme, students will be able to remember the vocabularies through a variety of ways, understand the concept of morphology (using prefixes and suffixes) and of orthography (patterns of letters). This 6-month-long programme is open to primary students between 10-12 years old.
