Project Future Malaysia is looking for local writers, artists and creatives, as well as the Malaysian diaspora to explore and address the themes and concerns of the country, and to envision and reimagine better, possible futures for Malaysia in art forms that engage, inspire and start conversations.
Fifteen applicants under the “Malaysian Writers, Artists and Creatives” category will be paid a RM500 commission fee, with the deadline for submission on October 20, 2021. Those submitting work under the “Malaysians Anywhere in the World” category are required to share imaginative ideas and creative solutions to reimagine Malaysia’s possible futures in 250 words or less, with a submission deadline by December 10, 2021. Experience Taiwan’s cultural stories through the viewpoints of notable characters in four biographical documentaries in George Town Festival’s Isle to Isle Documentary Screenings. The documentaries feature the spirit and life perspectives of selected Taiwanese culturati and artists, namely Michelin-starred chef André Chiang (André and His Olive Tree), calligraphy artist Tong Yang-tze (From Ink to Apparel), Malaysian filmmaker Tsai Ming-liang (Past Present) and Chang Ga-tau (Ga-Tau Chang), to inspire the public and other creators alike. Online sharing sessions will be conducted right after for audiences to interact with the producers / directors of the documentaries.

Organised by the Penang Harmony Corporation, Cycle For Peace is a virtual cycling event in conjunction with International Day of Peace. During the cycling period, participants aged 13 and above will cycle on their own, anywhere and anytime, to contribute towards a collective goal of covering the Earth’s equatorial circumference, measuring at 40,075km in total! Those who cycle 21km and above each week are entitled to a weekly lucky draw. The Top 5 distances for each category (ranked by distance and time) will win special prizes. Each participant who cycles at least 21km in total will receive an e-certificate.

Just pre-order your food through their Charity e-Store for an easy drive-thru pick-up at the hospital. Alternatively, you can also support the initiative by stepping in as a vendor, sponsor or donor.
