THROUGHOUT FEBRUARY 2020, Penang Monthly conducted a survey on Penangites’ awareness of their rights as Malaysian citizens. The survey centred around three main categories: public rights, employment rights and student rights. Answers were collected from 120 respondents across different genders, ages and areas of Penang, both on the island and the mainland.We also interview former chief police officer Datuk T.
