Festival Literature The Penang International Science Fair (PISF) returns this year with more hands-on workshops, industry exhibits, MakerFest, challenging competitions and much more. Learn about 3D modelling or challenge yourself to build an all-rounder robot that packs and delivers fresh food to customers. Or you can compete in the Robotic and Coding Challenge by programming robots on the spot! All this and more await you at PISF 2017.


Industry 4.0 Week is organised by the Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC) to allow workers, professionals and entrepreneurs a definitive glimpse into the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the ways it will affect how we work, play and live. Entry is free.
PSDC currently offers Industry 4.0 classes with modules covering Big Data, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber Security and Vertical Integration.

For the very first time in Penang, Fort Cornwallis will be turned into an Orang Asli settlement for Jenulang Fest. Be entertained by the rhythm and dance of the Orang Asli, indulge in their delicacies and don't forget to bring home their arts and crafts. Bring your family along and participate in the activities inspired by the oldest tribe in Malaysia. Admission is free for the whole day. Main performances will commence at 7pm.


The In-between Arts Festival (IbAF) returns November 27-29, promising to be a showcase that unveils the diversity of culture and religious celebrations in Penang. Come and experience traditional games, cultural performances, traditional food, artisanal goodies and more.


Tech Dome Penang will host the Inventions Exhibition brought all the way from the National Science and Technology Museum , Kaoshiung, Taiwan. The exhibition showcases over 200 inventions, supplemented by videos and interactive exhibits. Designed to create an element of fun and excitement as one ventures through the galleries, visitors will be able to join a cast of three alien characters (comprising a chief and two subordinates) on their mission to explore inventions and understand the process of invention. The exhibition is kid-friendly, so be sure to bring your little ones.


The George Town Literary Festival (GTLF) returns for its seventh edition, promising a stellar line-up of local and international luminaries, and exciting new programmes. Festival-goers can expect thought-provoking panel discussions, a poetry marathon, book launches as well as a free public screening of the acclaimed Penang Hokkien film, You Mean the World to Me. The festival will also be partnering with the Fay Khoo Award, which was set up in tribute to the memory of author, publisher and radio host Fay Khoo, who lost her swift battle to cancer earlier this year.
