Penang Bridge Marathon
34,500 runners got up in the wee hours of Sunday morning to take part in the annual Penang Bridge Run on November 18. The event, flagged off by Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, is the largest marathon in Malaysia. The number of participants increased from 27,500 last year.
Next year will mark a special milestone for the marathon as it will be held at the highly anticipated 24km Second Bridge.
Penang Sportsman and Woman honoured for fourth consecutive season
In honour of their outstanding achievements, Datuk Lee Chong Wei and Datuk Nicol Ann David were awarded the Penang Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year 2011 respectively.
