Malaysian woman among Forbes’ top 10 most powerful women in UN
Judy Cheng-Hopkins, assistant secretary-general of the United Nations (UN) for Peace-building Support, was recently named as one of Forbes’10 most powerful women in the UN, making her the first Malaysian to receive the honour.
The Penangite, also the highest ranking Malaysian in the UN, was appointed to her position in April 2009, in recognition of a career in development and humanitarian work in Africa and Asia that has spanned over three decades.
PEM interviewed Cheng-Hopkins in our October 2010 issue; the article can be downloaded at http:// is.gd/J7VOrl.
