Industrial Penang and its talent requirement scenario
The manufacturing sector has been the bastion and catalyst of economic development for Penang for more than four decades now. The state economy continues, nevertheless, to be powered by the assembly, manufacturing and export of selected industrial and trademark electronic products.
There is, however, an unprecedented up-scaling transformation in the industry worldwide, marked by technological and operational shifts, and this has shaped a new demand profile for skills and talent. This forces us to reassess the local talent pool and to see how well we can meet new requirements.
