Hazy skies yet again

In what must surely feel like déjà vu to many Malaysians, the haze blotted out the sun once more in August. Air quality in Penang reached borderline unhealthy levels, thanks to more than 300 hot spots in Sumatra. Seberang Jaya 2 saw its Air Pollution Index rise to as high as 101 on August 13, the only area to experience unhealthy air quality. Visibility in Bayan Lepas dropped to as low as 3.5km.

Detainee death leads to inquest

The police will investigate the death of a detainee in the Tanjung Tokong police station.
