Lit Fest curator Bernice Chauly takes a break from her busy schedule to talk about the upcoming Festival which runs from November 23-25, 2012.
What's new this year and what can audiences look forward too? We noticed that there are a number of returning writers, is it because the local lit scene is rather tiny?
Actually, the only returning writer is Tan Twan Eng who was personally requested by the Penang Chief Minister after being shortlisted for the Booker Prize – the first Malaysian writer to be given this honour. He was not on the original list of writers, and was the last addition to the festival, so we are glad that he is able to come at such short notice.
