PENANGPAC-The Latester Venture by Faritah and Joe


The First Couple of Malaysian Theatre, Faridah Merican and Joe Hasham, opens Penang’s “Theatre by the Sea” to serve the northern region. Bringing performing arts to the people at a price they can afford does not make for an easy life. But it makes for rewarding one.

PENANGITES got a welcome year-end bonus of free arts performances at the newly opened Performing Arts Centre of Penang (Penangpac) in November and December.

The purpose-built Penangpac, billed “Theatre by the Sea”, on the fourth floor of the Straits Quay retail marina in Tanjung Tokong, is the latest win-win joint venture of The Actors Studio (TAS) Sdn Bhd, this time with the Eastern & Oriental (E&O) Bhd.

And what could be more auspicious than Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng performing the opening rites on November 11, 2011 at 11am.
