The first ever conference on travel technology and hospitality automation launches this November.
On November 21 and 22, 2013, Kuching will play host to the inaugural Asia Pacific Tourism Hospitality And Technology (Apthat) Conference, the first ever conference on travel technology and hospitality automation. Organised by USCI Communications Sdn Bhd, the conference aims to prepare travel and tourism industrialists for a competitive, technology-driven market while identifying opportunities for innovation.
The conference will feature six papers, six workshops and two master classes. Speakers include Prof Dr Ross Dowling and Selina Power (Australia); Dr Madahmohan Roa, E.M. Najeeb and Dr Harsh Varma (India); Edward Dramberger and Andrew Jones (US); Masaru Takayama (Japan); and Ahmad Jauhari, Albert Teo, Henry Wong, Rohizam Md Yusoff and Dr Peter Ting (Malaysia). Topics include the Asia-Pacific cruising industry, sustainable practices, eco-tourism and blue ocean strategies, and many more.
The conference will be launched by Minister of Tourism Sarawak Datuk Amar Abang Haji Zohari Tun Openg, and director-general of Tourism Malaysia Datuk Mirza Mohammad Tayeb will deliver the keynote address.
