Celebration

Discover the many rites and rituals of our culture through food at the upcoming Heritage Celebrations 2015 event, which focuses on festive foods as a medium to share George Town’s diverse culture heritage with the world. Get to know the history of and food served during certain rites such as Kenduri Arwah, Ponggal, birthdays and post-pregnancy confinement.


Charity Hunt

Spend your weekend solving problems like Sherlock Holmes at the Adventist Charity Hunt. The event will consist of two hunts, namely the Motor Hunt and the Shopping Mall Hunt. The Motor Hunt will be held all over the island, while the Shopping Mall Hunt will be held at 1st Straits Quay. Registration fees are RM400 per team (with a maximum of four participants per team) for the Motor Hunt event and RM160 per team (with a maximum of two participants per team) for the Shopping Mall Hunt. All proceeds will be channelled to the Adventist Oncology Centre Fund.

Car Free Mornings

Ever dreamed of walking down a street without having to worry about speeding cars? You can live your dream now because Seberang Perai will be incorporating Car Free Mornings every first Sunday of the month on two of its popular streets, Jalan Todak 2 and Jalan Todak 3. Bring your family and friends, and enjoy a Sunday morning stroll down the streets. Participate in Japanese cultural performances, roller-blade exercises, a showcase of electric portable transportation and interactive games.

Penang Durian Festival

In conjunction with Penang Durian Festival, Bao Sheng Durian Farm invites you to indulge in its award-winning Musang King, Ang Hae, D16, Ang Jin, Ang Bak and D700 durians.

Competition

Organised by Zero Fitness Dance Studio, the Malaysia World Belly Dance Day International Championship showcases talented belly dancers from the region and around the world vying for the prestigious title. Proceeds will go to the Women’s Centre for Change and Home Dynamics.

Half-Marathon

In conjunction with the Asia-Pacific AIMS Conference in Penang, the Penang Bridge Marathon is back this June for a half-marathon race, which will be held at the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Bridge. So put on your running shoes, get your heart rate up and burn the extra calories on our beloved second bridge!
