Jazzing Up the Island
It was the 1970s and everyone was playing the guitar. Paul Augustin was no exception. The St. Xavier's Institution boy was in the thick of it; first, singing with his friends at the playground on weekends and eventually, forming a band.
Inevitably, everyone who could play the guitar wanted to play lead, so Augustin, now 56, took a different route and taught himself the bass guitar. After joining his first band Chapter One (or First Chapter, Augustin is hard-pressed to recall), Augustin was eventually recruited into a bigger band called Midday Revival which played professional gigs.
