Businesses eager to make a progressive shift toward Industry 4.0 and move up the value chain will not want to miss the highly anticipated METALTECH 2019, Malaysia’s largest manufacturing exhibition for metalworking, machinery, robotics and automation.
The four-day extravaganza, running from May 15-18, will be held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in celebration of METALTECH’S 25th anniversary; and is slated to feature over 1,500 local and international companies from various sectors of the industry with specialised profiles on machine tools and sheet metal technology; mould and die; precision engineering; surface and heat treatment; material handling and storage; welding; robotics; and metallurgy.
As a testament to the event’s continuing success and strong relationship with exhibitors, 90% of last year’s participants will once again be present this year, along with exciting new flagship exhibitors that have asserted their dominance in Industry 4.0 applications such as Amada, Bystronic, Fujikoshi-Nachi, Han’s Laser, Hexagon Measurement Technologies, Hiwin, Makino, Mitsubishi Electric Asia, Secure, Sodick, Sumitec, Tornos, Trumpf and Universal Robots.
“After 24 years of strong year-on-year growth, it is fitting that we celebrate our 25th anniversary with our largest and most ambitious event yet,” says Gerard Willem Leeuwenburgh, Country General Manager of UBM Malaysia, the organizer for METALTECH. “Our move to the new MITEC venue reflects our reputation as a first in class organiser dedicated to enhancing the customer experience and providing them with the right platform to meet and network with key players in the industry.”
The landmark event is expected to draw over 20,000 trade professionals; visitors to METALTECH 2019 will have the opportunity to view the latest products, experience live demos and some of the largest purpose-built installations ever seen at Malaysian trade fairs.
Other event highlights are the fully revamped free-to-attend industrial seminar series that has been expanded and enhanced to take a deep dive into the manufacturing and production advancements ushered in by the Fourth Industrial Revolution (including the Nine Pillars of Industry 4.0; advanced manufacturing and smart automation; and advanced precision and quality control inspection), a comprehensive series of cutting edge conferences, as well as a full suite of business matching services to facilitate constructive on-site business meetings.
“METALTECH is the most professional event in Malaysia for the metalworking and machinery industry. The event is able to host a range of on-site features and activities, and has continued to attract quality exhibitors from Malaysia and overseas, and a high calibre of trade buyers given its reputation as the longest-running trade event,” says Leeuwenburgh.
METALTECH is part of a portfolio of machine tool events in South-east Asia that includes established events such as Manufacturing Indonesia, MTA Vietnam, Intermach Thailand, Manufacturing Surabaya and MTA in Myanmar, collectively organised by UBM Asia.
The 12th edition of the Automation Technology Exhibition (AUTOMEX) for automation professionals will be held alongside the main event, with a comprehensive showcase of the latest automation and manufacturing technology processes featuring a variety of robotics, assembly and machine-vision solutions.
Both METALTECH and AUTOMEX are strongly supported by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC) and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
With barely a month left, interested exhibitors and visitors are encouraged to pre-register their attendance via the events’ websites, www.metaltech.com.my and www.automex.com.my, and download and peruse the show preview to make the most of their opportunities at METALTECH and AUTOMEX 2019.
And as part of METALTECH’s silver jubilee celebrations, an iPad Pro will be given away each day from May 15-18 to lucky pre-registered attendees during the event's lucky draw.
