If you’re a fan of local legends such as OAG, Bunkface and Seven Collar T-Shirt, then you would not want to miss the Northern Music Festival(NMF). With four stages for 60 bands over two days, this is not a musical event to be missed.

The George Town Literary Festival celebrates its sixth edition with acclaimed international and local writers. Helmed by Bernice Chauly, the three-day festival will see panel discussions, readings, spoken word performances, dance and film screenings around the festival’s theme, “Hiraeth”, a Welsh word which means “the longing for a homeland that is no longer there”.

This year's In-Between Arts Festival(IbAF) is a five-day festival dedicated to those who are looking to “taste” food in a different way. IbAF offers a concoction of events, featuring food zines, food presentation with unusual twists, and definitely a lot of food in your mouth.


Showcase

Check out Fun in Childhood & Martial Arts World: Eddie See & Wee Tian Bengfor childhood giggles! Eddie See, the creator of the Kokko & May comic, will be presenting his original manuscripts and art for fans to enjoy. Wee Tian Beng, creator of the comic adaption of Return of the Condor Heroes, will also be showcasing his original manuscripts. And if you’re lucky, you might meet the artists when you visit the museum!

Theatre

The stage adaptation of the book by award-winning author Claire Freedman and illustrator Ben Cort,Monstersaurus, tells the story of Monty, who loves inventing. But things don't always work – his walking toaster ran away and the robot went berserk! One day, Monty finds a book which tells him how to make monsters. But the monsters he makes keep getting him into trouble so he decides to make a mega-monster to sort them out. It’s Monstersaurus! He’s big, he’s hairy but is he scary? Watch if you dare!

Nostalgic Penang in Cheah Kongsi has an array of activities that will take you back in time, showcasing the Penang of the old days. Expect local traditional traders to share their stories with visitors, special screenings at the courtyard where you can learn about the interesting lifestyle of the residents way back when, and fun activities such as traditional games the whole family will enjoy.
