Charis Hospice Penang is organising an annual fundraising event, Charity Hunt 2018, to raise RM200,000 to support their mission to provide free palliative home-care services for patients with cancer and other critical illnesses in Penang, irrespective of race and religion. With the theme “Penang – Spice of the Orient”, the event consists of two hunts: the Motor Hunt and the Shopping Mall Hunt at Gurney Plaza. Do gather your family and friends for this wonderful, fun event and support them in bringing awareness to all on palliative care. The deadline for registration is April 7, so hurry up and sign up.

If you are a hiking enthusiast and are keen to elevate children born with limb deficiencies to new heights, then join the Climb to Change a Life event. The event is brought to you by Penang Hill Corporation, Zy Movement Foundation Malaysia (ZMF) and The Habitat Penang Hill, and aims to help children born with limb deficiencies to nurture self-belief and optimism through participation in physically challenging activities. Participants can expect a T-shirt and a certificate. Packed food will be provided. Registration closing date is April 16.


The Paddy Field Run 2018 is a unique run not to be missed, simply because you get to run in the paddy fields! The run aims to promote Kepala Batas as a preferred place for runners and to promote the beauty of paddy fields. Runners can expect a finisher’s medal, T-shirt, certificate, light refreshments and a chance to win the lucky draw! Mexico is half a world away, which is why the Embassy of Mexico and PenangPac will be organising the Mexican Film Festival 2018 to promote Mexican culture through movies. The festival will be showcasing five hecho en mexico movies such as Ilusiones S.A, El Comienzo Del Tiempo, Ella Y El Candidato, Por Mis Bigotes, and Pedro Paramo. Admission is free.

The Penang International Food Festival celebrates local food throughout April! There are three segments in the festival: Street Food Festival, Taste of Penang and Food Truck Invasion. Street Food Festival features iconic street food with precious recipes passed down through generations, while Taste of Penang features some of Penang's most popular cafes, hotels and restaurants that specialise in modern Penang cuisine. The festival ends with the Food Truck Invasion which will feature a jaw-dropping 150 food trucks from all over Malaysia and the South-East Asian region.

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM)’s Music Department is proud to present their very first Music Festival @ USM 2018! The threeday festival is the first of its kind that will feature the hottest and most celebrated artists in jazz and popular music from Malaysia and neighbouring Thailand. The events lined up for the three days include workshops and talks by prominent musicians and representatives of the music industry, various competitions, fringe performances by USM students and friends, and a Gala Night Concert. Thailand’s acclaimed jazz saxophonist, Koh Mr Saxman; Malaysia’s iconic jazz pianist Michael Veerapen; and prolific violist Dr Andrew Filmer are among the many eminent musicians who will conduct the workshops and also perform at the Gala Concert.
