PM SHOP TERMS & CONDITIONS

Types of Subscription:

e-Archives

  • Subscribers will only be given access to the e-Archive once transaction has been made
  • Access to the e-Archive is limited to only two electronic devices
  • Penang Monthly (PM) has a no refund, no return policy. As such, all e-Archive subscription sales are final
  • PM reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions without due notice

Print

  • Print subscribers (local or international) may subscribe to more than one PM copy if they so wish to do so. Please note that print subscribers will only start receiving the magazine copies the following month
  • Postage charges are applicable
  • For domestic and international postage deliveries, the postage rates are fixed unless stipulated otherwise by Pos Malaysia. Alternatively, there is a self-collect option
  • For international postage delivery, please note that postage charges may vary depending on the country of residence
  • PM print copies are usually scheduled to arrive on the 8th of every month. Depending on Pos Malaysia’s postage service, local subscribers (West and East Malaysia) should be able to receive the magazine copies within the first fortnight of the month, excluding public or government-gazetted holidays, and subject to courier service delivery timings. International subscribers should be able to receive the magazine copies within three weeks of posting, excluding public or government-gazetted holidays, and subject to courier service delivery timings
  • PM has a no refund, no return policy. As such, all print subscription sales are final
  • PM reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions without due notice

Box Set

  • Purchase of the complete PM 2016 box set is subject to postage charges
  • For domestic and international postage deliveries, the postage rates are fixed unless stipulated otherwise by Pos Malaysia. Alternatively, there is a self-collect option
  • For international postage delivery, please note that postage charges may vary depending on the country of residence 
  • Depending on PosLaju’s postage service, local subscribers should be able to receive their PM 2016 box set within 1-7 working days for both West and East Malaysia, excluding public or government-gazetted holidays, and subject to courier service delivery timings. International subscribers should be able to receive the box sets within three weeks of posting, excluding public or government-gazetted holidays, and subject to courier service delivery timings.
  • PM has a no refund, no return policy. As such, all box set sales are final
  • PM reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions without due notice

Penang Monthly Shop

  • The customer shall indicate the product(s) they wish to order and the quantity, at the price specified by PM, by placing an order on the designated online form at www.penangmonthly.com and providing all necessary information to assist in the transaction. All orders shall be subject to acceptance by PM
  • Payment of product(s) shall be made by the customer in full by the customer’s valid card before physical delivery of product(s)
  • The customer warrants that they are ordering the product(s) for their own use only and not for resale or export purposes
  • PM does not practice Free Domicile shipment (shipper does not bear all charges)
  • For domestic postage, delivery will be made within 7 working days, excluding public or government-gazetted holidays, and subject to courier service delivery timings. For international postage, delivery will be made within 3 weeks, excluding public or government-gazetted holidays, and subject to courier service delivery timings
  • For deliveries within Malaysia, the customer shall bear all shipping and handling charges (where applicable), as well as all applicable taxes, including but not limited to Goods and Services Tax, at the prevailing rates. In the event that the product(s) is undelivered and/or unclaimed by the customer from PosLaju and product(s) is returned to PM, the customer shall have to bear the cost of shipment and handling charges to redeliver the product(s)
  • For deliveries outside of Malaysia, shipping and handling fees, as well as all tax, GST, VAT and/or storage charges (if applicable) at the destination’s countries shall be borne by the customer. In the event that the product(s) is held and/or unclaimed at customs and/or destination’s countries due to the customer’s refusal to pay tax, GST, VAT and/or storage charges (if applicable), PM shall not be held liable should the courier company proceed to abandon or destroy the orders after certain holding period according to their policy and the order will not be refunded
  • PM shall not entertain any request(s) from the customer for the cancellation or refund of the confirmed order(s) should the customer refuse to pay the duty and tax incurred at the destination countries
  • Failure to deliver the product(s) to the customer and if the product(s) is returned to PM due to uncollected/undelivered order(s), PM will refund the amount paid minus the delivery and handling charges, storage fees (if any) and penalty imposed by the courier company for returning the product(s) to PM
  • Kindly note should the product(s) not been accepted or claimed by the customer or is undeliverable due to error or omission on the part of the customer or for which no disposition instructions have been provided to PM within the 90 days (upon receiving email notification from our end) of its arrival, the product(s) shall be considered unclaimed/abandoned. PM has the right and shall abandon the product(s) and no substitute/refund/redelivery request shall be entertained
  • Please note that delivery charges are based on a single transaction/order. If the customer opts for partial/separate delivery from a single transaction/order, delivery charges are applicable for each delivery
  • All card payments are subject to the approval of the card company and the relevant paying bank. PM shall not be liable in any way if the card company or the paying bank refuses to process or accept any card or card particulars for any reason
  • The customer agrees to submit to PM and its payment service provider such card information and other personal and delivery information as may be reasonably requested by PM or its payment service provider to process the order, payment for the order, and to arrange for delivery and invoicing. All information submitted shall be subject to PM’s Privacy Policy. PM shall require its payment service provider to keep such information confidential and not use the information for any purpose other than to carry out its services, provided the customer agrees that PM shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or liability in the event of any unauthorised disclosure of such information by its payment service provider
  • PM reserves the right to exercise its lawful remedies if a dispute or issue arises over card payments, or if it does not receive full payment for an order. In particular, but without limitation to any other remedies, if the card company or the paying bank rejects or reverses payment for an order. PM may in its discretion:
    1. Reject such order, or suspend or cancel delivery of such order;
    2. Repossess the product(s) if delivered; or
    3. Claim against the customer for the full price of the order as a debt
  • PM will accept returns from customers for purchases sent back and received by us within 7 days of receipt of the shipment based on the following conditions:
    1. Incorrect or defective product(s) delivered; and
    2. The product(s) returned to us is in its original condition
  • PM will extend a full refund for the price of any product(s) that fulfils the above requirements. We regret that shipping cost for the customer’s purchase will only be refunded if the return had been due to an oversight on our part

Guarding your privacy is imperative to us. As such, Penang Monthly (PM) is committed to protecting ALL personal details provided by our readers to us. This is inclusive of the data we collect from all social media platforms/accounts in connection to our website, mobile site, social media and electronic newsletters.


Personal Data & Information Notice 

This Personal Data & Information Notice (“Notice”) is to notify you how PM and its associated company and jointly controlled entity Penang Institute collect and handle your personal data and information (“Personal Data”) in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (“the Act”).



  1. "Personal Data" means information about you, from which you are identifiable by that has been or may be collected, stored, used and processed by PM for its purposes. This will include but will not be limited to your name, postal address (both billing and shipping addresses), email address and debit or credit card number.

    PM will also gather information such as Internet protocol (IP) addresses (the region or general location where the technological device(s) is accessing the Internet), browser type, operating system and other information pertaining to the use of PM, including the history of viewed pages.

    PM will also receive individual reader’s information made available by third party providers through the former’s use of social media accounts. These will include but will not be limited to your name and contact information, your username and password, your friends list and any information you have chosen to make public in connection with your social media accounts.

  2. PM may use and process your Personal Data for the purposes which shall include, without limitation:
    1. To communicate with you, process any payment transactions, respond to questions, comments and feedback from you, to improve client relationship management and to generally inform advertisers about the nature of PM’s subscriber base;
    2. For internal administrative purposes, such as auditing, data analysis, and to improve PM’s services;
    3. For PM to comply with its obligations under any laws; and
    4. For any other purpose that is incidental or ancillary or in furtherance to the above purposes.
  3. Personal Data provided to PM will generally be kept confidential but you hereby consent and authorise that the Personal Data may be transferred, accessed or disclosed to third parties. Further, PM may engage other parties to perform functions on PM’s behalf, and consequently may provide access to or disclose your Personal Data to such third parties.  

    Third parties are prohibited from using the Personal Data disclosed in any way other than to provide services for PM, and they may not share, resell or use the data for their own direct marketing purposes.

  4. Subject to any exceptions under applicable laws, you may request for access to and/or request correction of your Personal Data, and/or make any enquiries regarding your Personal Data, by contacting:

If you do not wish for PM to process your Personal Data, please let PM know within 7 workings days of this notice. If PM does not receive any response from you on the above, PM shall assume that you are agreeable to the same.
