Following up on three sold-out shows in 2015, the RLT Players return for their sixth season with the original Tales of Wonder II: Another RLT Christmas, with 11 dramatic and musical sketches that will delight audiences of all ages as we explore the wonder of the Christmas season.

Penang comes alive with music at the Penang Island Jazz Festival (PIJF), which is annually held the first weekend of December. Let local and international performers serenade you by the beach. This year’s 12th + 1 edition of PIFJ is poised as the musical destination for music lovers from all over the world. Its four-day programme includes outdoor Jazz By The Beach, the Creative Malaysia Fringe Programme, assorted music workshops and the Island Music Forum, Jazz Gallery Exhibitions, the early morning Sunrise@Tropical Spice Garden and more.

Music Camp Concert 2016 is the culminating concert after five days of intensive music camp. Musica Sinfonietta will be playing under the baton of a Thai conductor for the first time, and will play his composition King of Peace, inspired by his reverence of the late Thai king. Also featured are Bizet’s Carmen Suite No. 1, Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony, Elgar’s Serenade for Strings and more.

The Pearl of Orient Cup Guppy Competition brings together guppy hobbyists and breeders to discuss, share and spread the love for guppies, and ultimately vie for the coveted prize!

The dragon emblem used in the dragon boat race signifies unity. This is because the dragon is said to be a combination of other animals in the Chinese zodiac: the head of an ox, the antlers of a deer, the mane of a horse, the body and scales of a snake, the claws of an eagle and the tail of a fish. Organised by the Penang State Tourism Development and Culture, the Penang Pesta Dragon Boat Race will host teams from Hong Kong, Taipei, the US, Singapore and more.

Bring your family and experience the oriental masquerade of Chingay at the Penang Pesta Chingay Parade. The Chingay and Lion Dance troupe members will display their skills in balancing on stilt poles during this yearly street parade. Expect giant colourful flags and heavily adorned floats, lion and dragon dance performances, as well as a procession of decorative trishaws. Admission is free.

A Christmas Celebration of Early Music, presented by Pro Musica, is a concert featuring Allesandro Scarlatti's Cantata Pastorale, "Oh di Betlemme altera" as well as works by J.S. Bach, G.P. Telemann, Jean-Baptiste Lully and other celebrated composers.

Kota Kelip Kelip is a play about two best friends, Saufy and Azam, who used to stay at an orphanage known as Rumah Seri Muda. After a long time, they meet again and reminisce about the good times that they spent together at the orphanage.
Kota Kelip Kelip is performed by ten children from three orphanages. Sponsors or donations are welcomed.
