Exhibition

The George Town Toys and Comic Con (GTTCC) event gathers a pool of collectors, artists and designers from all over the world to showcase and sell their original creations. GTTCC will feature some of the best DIY toys, art toys as well as action figures and – of course – comics. Have a little chat with the artists to learn more about toy making and comic drawing. Great prizes by Canon await those who join the cosplay competition. Admission to GTTCC is free.

Performing Arts

Seven acrobats push their physical limits without reserve; this performance is simultaneously raw, frantic and delicate. Supported by driving live percussion and presented so intimately that you can feel the heat, hear every breath and be immersed in every moment, A Simple Space evokes real responses in audiences, something visceral rather than cerebral.

Theatre

What does it mean to “reclaim” the ocean and cut down trees for a highway, a mall and progress? What does it mean to be a man and a woman? What does the man who dreamt of drowning in the ocean before jumping off the Penang Bridge and Bersih 5 have in common? Riwayat (from “riwayat hidup”, Malay for “life story”) asks these questions and brings to the stage a brutally honest, impactful and sometimes hilarious devised piece of movement, multilingual text and original soundscape that reacts to the world around and within us, investigating the shared memories and stories of living and being in Malaysia now.
