George Town Festival is back! Penang's most-anticipated arts festival promises renowned international and local acts, theatre performances, music, art, dance, opera and film screenings throughout the month. Visit the festival website for a full programme listing.


George Town Heritage Celebrations returns with the theme of “Walk the Talk: Oral Traditions and Expressions”. This year’s three-day celebrations include collaborations with 14 local communities, a variety of community-initiated activities, performances and cultural shows. Expect national performances such as dikir barat and boria, and heritage trails within the George Town World Heritage Site to discover the stories behind each street. There will be open houses along the Street of Harmony, including the Kapitan Keling Mosque, Kuan Yin Temple, and St. George’s Church.

Penang Adventist Hospital (PAH) is organising Go Bald, Go the Distance Charity Head-Shaving & Food Carnival. This event is in aid of the hospital's Dr J. Earl Gardner Fund which provides medical assistance to needy patients who undergo major surgeries stemming from chronic ailments like scoliosis, stroke and amputation. Event day activities includes a mini food carnival and many more.
