If you are a scale enthusiast, head on over to the Malaysia Scale Hobby Show 2016. This international hobby show will be the first of its kind in the South-East Asian region and is expected to draw hundreds of scale modelers and enthusiasts around the region. Entrance is free. Expect demos from scale modelers and showcases from renowned brands.

Musical

The Penang Hospice Society presents Musical Gifts, a charity concert in collaboration with Musica Sinfonietta and the National University of Singapore Society (NUSS) choir to raise funds for the Hospice-at-Home Programme. Catch Penang-born pianist Dr Sylvia Wang and American-Chinese conductor Dr Ruth Lin in an unusual combination of forces with the visiting NUSS. Invitation is by donation of RM100 to RM500 each. All donations will be tax exempted upon request. Programme highlights include movie themes and songs from musicals by the choir, as well as Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 25 with Dr Wang as soloist.

Are you a sports enthusiast willing to take on the physical and mental challenge of running up Komtar’s 65 storeys? Penang's tallest building takes on a whole new light in the KOMTAR Tower Run 2016, an event not to be missed. Komtar is a 12-sided geometric block of 760ft (232m) with flights of stairs totaling 1,237 steps, sitting atop a four-storey podium.

Community AIDS Service Penang (CASP) will be organising the 33rd International AIDS Candlelight Memorial Charity Dinner. The International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, coordinated by the Global Network of People living with HIV, is one of the world’s oldest and largest grassroots mobilisation campaigns for HIV awareness in the world.

Contribute to the differently abled community (and your palate) at the Eden Handicap Service Centre’s annual Charity Food Fair. The fair aims to raise RM250,000 to benefit people with disabilities in the community through its free services. The fair will feature some 100 stalls selling a variety of home-cooked food, hawker fare, treats from a host of different cuisines, souvenirs, handicrafts, and much more.

The Malaysian Association of Chinese Comedians returns with a brand new stand-up comedy show. Titled Episode 7 – The Funny Wake Up Liao, this show features brand new comedy material. The performance will showcase the comedic talents of Douglas Lim, Kuah Jenhan, Phoon Chi Ho and Dr Jason Leong. It features pithy observations, anecdotes, theories and even song parodies – all from the point of view of four established comedians.
