Arts

While the Penang Bridge bridges the geographical gap between George Town and Mainland Penang to ease commuters, Urban Xchange 2015 aims to bridge the artistic gap between young artists and traditional artisans, between Malaysians and international artists.

Urban Xchange opens on October 31 with UX: Artisan Project at the Hin Bus Depot exhibition space. Seven contemporary Malaysian artists have combined forces with seven artisans representing traditional Malaysian trades and artisanal skills, such as batik, rattan weaving and more. Supported by Thinkcity, it aims to bridge the gap between generations and promote non-traditional methods of traditional productions.
