Elevate to new heights at the Penang Hot Air Balloon Fiesta and become the envy of the masses down below! The Penang Hot Air Balloon Fiesta gives visitors an experience on a hot air balloon against the picturesque backdrop of the George Town World Heritage Site. Expect inflatable playgrounds, creative workshops, photography competitions, kite flying and more.

Charity

The annual Run and Ride for Sight, organised by the St. Nicholas’ Home for the visually disabled, is back. All registered participants will get a medal, T-shirt, goodie bags and a chance to win in the lucky draw! Closing date is February 28, so hurry up and register today.


Culture

Join in the birthday celebration of the Cheng Chooi Chor Soo Kong, deity of the Snake Temple. The “Fire Watching” ceremony is a traditional ceremony to predict the economy outlook of Penang. A special prayer is also conducted to commemorate the deity’s birthday.

The ceremony is an annual event that attracts dedicated local and foreign devotees. Visitors will also be entertained by various cultural dances, food stalls, exhibitions and exciting performances.

Culture

The ninth day of Chinese New Year, also known as “Ti Kong Seh” (“Jade Emperor God's birthday”) in Hokkien, is celebrated by the Hokkien clan to commemorate their forefathers’ escape in ancient China. Expect the annual magnificent parade along Chew Jetty. Fireworks will be lit at the stroke of midnight.
